Walk In Centre

Our Walk In Clinic Times

Like other walk in clinics, we have periods in the day which tend to be busier than others. During these times the waiting period to see a Doctor could be be considerbly higher. If we expect there to be a considerable wait, we will let you know when you book in with reception.

Due to patient demand and waiting times we reserve the right to close access to new patients wanting to see a GP prior to the indicated closing time. If we have to close access we will provide you with alternative local services who will be able to help you.

We ask that before you come down to any of the sessions you call us on 0161 2206080 to check that we still have walkin appointments available.

Monday to Friday our walk in clinical times are

  • 8:30am till 10:30am
  • 1pm to 3pm
  • 4:30pm to 6pm

Saturdays and Sundays

  • 10am to 12pm
  • 2pm to 4pm

Our last patient is seen 20 minutes before the closing time of the surgery unless we have had to close access to new patients ue to demand. Sometimes due to patient numbers, we have to close the doors early. If we do close early we will let you know which options you have to be seen by a Health Care Professional in the local area.

What we treat

Who can use the centre? Do I have to change my doctor if I do?

The health centre operates like any other GP practice and it is open for anyone living in the Levenshulme area to register as a patient with us. You can find out more about registering on the Register section of this site.

However, in addition Hawthorn Medical Centre can be used by anyone on a no-appointment, turn up and walk-in basis. You don't need to be registered with us in order to see a GP or one of our health team. All you have to do is come to the centre, book in with reception and wait to be seen.

What do I need to bring?

You do not need to bring anything with you to be able to use the centre as a walk-in patient. However when you first attend the centre, we will need you to provide us with some basic information about yourself.

Please be advised that the walk in centre is usually very busy and your waiting time to see a Doctor could be up to two hours. If you have a cold or have flu like symptoms please use the NHS Direct self help checker before coming down to the surgery, it may save you a long wait.

Your local pharmacy can help you without the need to see a GP. For more information please visit the Choose Well website
